Last time we played Parkwyddn at home we gave them a bit of a shock and a game to boot. This time, we travelled away with some additional, new players, but were also missing some of the seasoned midfielders. Just how would we find the unbeaten, top of the table, Parkwyddn? Read more…

U12,2 Hurricanes v Salford Victoria 7.1.2012
U12’ s Hurricanes v Salford Victoria 7.1.2012 As Hurricanes welcomed a new team to the division would the new year start with a victory just as 2011 had finished? Ryan (hot shot) Curran greeted SalfordVictoria’s captain and the referee at the centre spot to carry out the pre match formalities. Hurricanes started the match the stronger team and began to apply pressure forcing the opposition back deep into their own half, Ben and James both going close but lacking composure just when it was required in front of goal. Despite Salford’s lowly league position their passing and determination was beginning to restore the balance ...
Hurricanes go marching on!
U12’ s Hurricanes v Swinton Lions Challenge cup 10.12.2011 Hurricanes go marching on! A convincing 4-1 victory against Swinton Lions sees Hurricanes into the next round of the challenge cup for the first time in many years. Up for the challenge despite being without Bradley Zazuum Smith their regular keeper a returning Kia Leonard (broken arm) stood in for the absent Zazuum as skipper for this game. From the whistle Kai started accurately passing the ball out to both wings, something that had been lacking from their game in the last few weeks and so Hurricanes were able to create the first of many openings. ...
Youth Cup Glory For U/11s Storm
Congratulations go to the Under 11s Storm who made it through to the Semi-Final's of the MCFA Youth Cup. In the Quarter-Final's United who faced Glossop North End away fully deserved their 2-1 victory. Beechy produced a brilliant first half display and led 1-0 at the break courtesy of a goal from Jordan Coates. In the second period Glossop North End looked better organised and were rewarded with an equalising goal but United stepped up a gear and Jordan Coates was on target again with the match winner. Ethan Haynes and Jace Winspear shared the Man of the Match Award. ...

A Look Back to December 1997
When I did my first match reports for Beechfield United FC back in 1997 I had no typewriter so they were hand written and sent via fax to the Salford Advertiser Sports Desk. Fourteen years later things are much easier thanks to the e-mail facility. So lets look back to 1997 and see the details of the last games played that year which took place on Saturday 20th December.

U12s Hurricanes v Barr Hill Aces – 3/12/11
A tough away fixture against high flying Barr Hill Aces awaited Hurricanes on a bitterly cold and wet Saturday. Could they carry on from last weeks convincing victory or as the history books show, come away from Bolton road with nothing?
U11′s Hurricanes v Boothstown Juniors – 3/12/2011
Cold weather, torrential rain, and a squad of 9 (including missing a keeper) made our first encounter of the fortnight a tough fixture against Boothstown Juniors. We we planning on making it a dress rehearsal for the Challenge Cup game against them next week but in the end we simply just had to play it as it came.
U/9s Storm cruise into Cup Semis
On Sunday 13th February 2011 Beechfield United Under 9s Storm booked their place in the Challenge Cup semi-final’s following an emphatic runaway victory in the quarter-final’s over Manchester Maccabi Lions.
On a heavy pitch and in blustery conditions at Beech Farm United played some outstanding football and raced into a 3-0 lead with two goals from Declan Nolan and one by Jaden Timmis. The good passing and movement off the ball continued and at half time United were 5-1 up.
The pattern of the match remained much the same in the second half as United dominated possession and looked likely to score with virtually every attack. Manchester Maccabi had no answer to United’s all-round ability and at the final whistle Beechy had secured their semi-final spot thanks to a 12-1 win.
The goals came courtesy of Jaden Timmis (3) Declan Nolan (2) Ben Barlow (2) Isaak Johanneson (2) Alex Hunter, Owen Hesketh and Mitchell Nolan. Team Manager Martin Belcher said after the match that the whole team contributed to a fantastic performance which was a pleasure to watch.

The game had been called off twice already due to firstly a frozen pitch and then, shall we say, inclement weather. Finally, we got to play but would the gap in play affect our current determination?? The game also saw debuts for our latest international signings! Read more…
