U11s Sunday Team Secure 2nd Cup Final Place

Added by Keith Long on 2nd May, 2011 |

BUFC’s Under 11s Sunday team who have had a tremendous season in the Timperley and District Junior League booked their place in the Supplementary Cup final following a 12-4 win in the semi-final’s over Hough End Griffins. United will now meet Ashton on Mersey A in the Division 1 cup final at Trafford FC’s ground Shaw View Flixton and the teams will meet again the final of the Supplementary Cup seven days later.

In a thrilling semi-final tie with Hough End Griffins United made an excellent start and were 2-0 up inside the opening eight minutes but the visitors fought back and drew level via two well-created goals. There was always a fast pace throughout the match and in typical Beechy style they quickly regained control and had raced into a 6-2 lead by half time.

The second half was just as competitive as the first with United still producing some dazzling football and though Hough End Griffins continued to work hard in all areas of the pitch in the end they quite simply had no answer to United’s all-round ability and goalscoring power.

On target for Beechy were Jack Wyatt (3) Taylor Share (3) Jake O’Brien (2) Tom Battersby (2) Jack Davies and Ben Burrows (penalty) The Man of the Match Award went to Adam Kinsey.
