Tournaments So Far This Summer.
The U/7's Storm took part in a Mini-Tournament at Burnley
FC's Soccer School Academy. They played three games in
total, two against Burnley's own teams and one against Sale
United JFC. Beechy drew two games but lost the other with
the goals coming via James Latham, Max Hanley and Mitchell
Nolan. The other players who all played a major part were
Marcus Belcher, Dylan Hilton, Logan Holroyd, Declan Nolan,
Jaden Timmis, Ben Walker and Liam Wilson.
At the Pendlebury United
Tournament United's U/8's Tornados lifted the Victoria Park
Cup despite having only five players available. United
produced some outstanding football throughout the event and
fully deserved their success. The five Beechy heroes
were Harry Cottrill, Jacob Farr, Josh Reynolds, Mason Taylor
and David Williams.
United's U/9's Storm were
runners-up in the Euxton Villa FC Tournament. In the final
they were beaten by Mill Hill JFC following a nail biting
penalty shoot-out. United's squad consisted of Rashid Amer,
Tom Battersby, Alfie Belcher, Ridley Cassidy, Jack Davies,
Jake O'Brien, Ben Sykes, Joe Parker and Tom Walker.
But more recently the U/9's
Storm were celebrating for real after winning the Urmston
Town Soccer Festival. Thanks to some excellent team work
United didn't concede a goal during the tournament and
convincingly beat Failsworth West 2-0 in the final.
Representing the team on the day were Rashid Amer, Tom
Battersby, Ridley Cassidy, Jack Davies, Joe Parker, Taylor
Share and Ben Sykes (captain)
