Beechfield United U/11's ended their City of Salford Soccer League season on a winning note when they gained a 3-2 win against Moorside Blue. After trailing 1-0 at the break United totally dominated the second half and goals by Chris Royle, Joel Sharples and Man of the Match Ben Timmis were just reward for some stylish soccer and superb teamwork.

Thanks to a brilliant display the U/10's Tornados enjoyed a 2-1 away win over De La Salle Scorpions. United who outfought and outplayed their opponents led 2-0 via goals from Luke Mather and William Holliday but De La Salle managed to score a consolation goal late in the game. Blake Pearson was United's Best Player.

The U/10's Storm drew 1-1 away with Urmston Town. Beechy held a deserved 1-0 lead at half time thanks to Oliver Quinn's goal and though United continued to look the better team Urmston Town forced an equalising goal in an entertaining second half. United keeper Daniel Wilson made several outstanding saves.

Both Jack Small and Thomas Wiseman had great games for the U/9's Tornados but unfortunately United lost 4-0 at home to Langworthy Juniors.

For the second time in four days the U/8's Tornados met North Walkden and United secured a winning double with a comfortable 5-0 victory. Goalscorers were Connor Reid (2) Oliver Billingham, Finley Walker and Man of the Match Tristian Ainsworth.

Quickly returning to winning ways were the U/8's Storm who powered their way to an emphatic 7-1 win at Boothstown Juniors. On target were Jack Davies (3) Ben Moseley (3) and Jake Duffy. Man of the Match award went to Ben Sykes. In their next game Beechy secured third place in the Division 1 table following a 3-0 victory over Barr Hill Diamonds. All United's goals came in the first half courtesy of Ben Sykes, Ben Moseley and Taylor Share. Star Performer was Alfie Belcher.

Goals by Matthew Daly, Alex Murphy and William Jones gave the U/7's Storm a narrow 3-2 victory against Soccer 4 Kids. Scott Proven was Man of the Match. Then in their DK Trophies Fun Competition Play-Off Final United drew 6-6 with Boothstown Eagles. The match was a thrilling end to end encounter and a draw was a fair result. Man of the Match Jordan Stenning (3) Alex Murphy and Brandon Kent got the goals.
Mini and Junior Teams
Beechfield United's 1st team produced a ragged end to what has been a highly successful 2007-2008 season when they lost 4-3 away in their final Lancashire and Cheshire League Premier Division fixture. Once again United failed to deliver the type of quality football they had displayed so often during their championship winning campaign. Hazel Grove dictated most of the play during the first half and held a 3-1 lead at the interval but United came back strongly in the second half and deservedly got back on level terms but the home side grabbed their winning goal during the last two minutes. All United's goal's came from hat-trick hero Anthony Weall.

The 3rd team booked their place in the Whitehead Cup final following a 3-1 victory over Old Stretfordians. United made a sluggish start to the match and they got a wake up call when Old Stretfordians opened the scoring on 16 minutes but the Beechy lads quickly responded with some neat and more direct attacking football. Luke Martin hit United's equalising goal from the penalty spot and it remained 1-1 as the whistle blew for half time. Old Stretfordians made United work hard during the second period but goals by Jack Tierney and Mike Leech saw United through to their second final in as many seasons. Man of the Match Tim Taylor was outstanding in defence.

United then made it 53 games unbeaten when they gained a narrow 2-1 away win against Mellor FC in a Division D fixture. In an evenly balanced contest United failed to produce their best form but were worthy winners courtesy of two goals from Jack Tierney.

Under 18's Youth Team
Beechfeld United 's Youth Team semi finalists in the Gordon Sutten Cup also finished third in the league against hard opposition. The only team to remain undefeated in the league stages with 12 goals for and none against and even beating league champions on the way and were only defeated by a penalty shoot out in the semi final. Three days before the league started we only had three existing players. Hard work by Jim Pilling, Wayne Griffiths and George Lockley managed to form a team which gave one hundred percent in every performance. Many thanks to every player who has played over this season and has worked hard for this Club.
