U9′s Hurricanes at Wigan tournament

Added by Jay Roche on June 26 2010

Today the U9′s Hurricanes travelled to the Wigan Athletic Juniors tournament and had a mixed day of results with scores of 0-0, 1-0 (against - hooky penalty decision) and 1-1 in the group stage, then getting knocked out by the winners of the other group 4-0.  Defensively strong, just struggled to create chances to score.

It’s worth the mention though that Player of the Tournament was goalie Dain Wareing who not only made some fantastic saves to keep the scorelines down but also scored the only goal from Beechy!!

For our first year I feel that this is an amazing achievement for a bunch of lads who came together at the very start of the season, with no real pre-season training or match experience. Read more…
