Under 14s Produce Top-Quality Performance
Beechfield United Under 14s remain unbeaten in the North Bury Junior League following a 5-1 home victory at Beech Farm Playing Fields over Bury Amateurs Red. In this Division B fixture the in-form Jack Ryan opened the scoring with an instinctive strike from just inside the area and this was quickly followed by a fine goal from Luke Tonge.
United continued to dominate the match and created lots more chances but they were still only 2-0 ahead at half time. The scoreline soon changed in the second half when Jack Ryan poached the third goal after a frantic goalmouth scramble then a few minutes later substitute Alex McLoughlin put the Bury Amateurs centre half under immense pressure which resulted in him sending a looping header over his own keeper and into the net to put Beechy 4-0 up.
United then took their foot off the gas and after a fine save from keeper Tom Brougham the visitors managed to sneak a consolation goal but with virtually the last kick of the game Luke Tonge completed the scoring with United’s fifth goal. There were some fantastic individual performances but centre half Harry Wragg just edged it for Man of the Match.
