U/15′s suffer Semi-Final defeat!

Added by Keith Long on May 17 2010

Beechfield United Under 15′s players were left feeling rather dejected after their Jubilee Cup semi-final against Bolton Lads & Girls Club. In an absorbing contest United produced an unexpected below par performance and suffered a 5-2 defeat.

United’s defence faced early pressure as Bolton Lads who had home advantage almost scored twice inside the opening six minutes. Gradually Beechy began to show more composure and created a few chances themselves but it was Bolton Lads who went ahead thanks to well taken goal by their versatile No 10.

During a scrappy period when far too many stoppages threatened to ruin the match United found an equalising goal when Tito Jorge met a Lyndon Schofield free kick and his powerful header from close range gave the keeper no chance. U15′s in semi’s of Jubilee Cup

Added by Jay Roche on May 4 2010

Thanks to a comfortable 3-1 home win Beechfield United U/15′s moved smoothly into the semi-final’s of the Jubilee Cup.

Against opponents Leigh Genesis Beechy looked full of confidence straight from the kick off and went ahead thanks a superb goal by Tito Jorge in the 14th minute. The visitors were always a threat and found an equalising goal early in the second half but United didn’t panic and took a 2-1 lead when Lyndon Schofield set up Jason Wood who provided a stylish and accurate finish.

United were on top for the remainder of the match and Brad Derbyshire made sure of victory with the third goal.

Beechfield United U/15′s produced a stunning display in the Bolton Boys & Girls Federation League. Away at league leaders Ramsbottom United Beechy were in control and held a comfortable 3-0 lead early in the second half but following some slack defending conceded two soft goals and had to settle for a 3-2 victory. Goalscorers were Jordan Broome (2) and Tito Jorge.
