“Hurrah” The Long Wait is Finally Over

Beechfield United's Under 15's Girls Team who had been sidelined for twelve weeks finally played a 9v9 match in the Bolton Bury & District Junior Football League. Obviously the girls didn't enjoy the extended break mainly due to postponements caused by the weather but they showed no after-effects on Sunday 19th February when they beat Hindley Juniors 4-0 at Beech Farm Playing Fields. Mini & Junior Section Match Details (January/February 2012)

Due to the erratic british weather nearly all BUFC Mini/Junior Section teams have seen a bulk of their games postponed in January/February 2012 so night games at the end of the season are inevitable. On Saturday 7th January in the Stax City of Salford Soccer League the Under 10s Storm lost 3-0 away at Cherrybrook while United's Under 12s Hurricanes enjoyed a 5-2 home win over Salford Victoria. On Sunday 29th January 2012 Beechfield United U/12s Storm made it through to the MCFA Youth Cup Quarter-final's thanks to a 5-2 home victory over Manchester Corinthians who are members of the Tameside Junior Football League. U12’ s Hurricanes v Swinton Lions Challenge cup 10.12.2011 Hurricanes go marching on! A convincing 4-1 victory against Swinton Lions sees Hurricanes into the next round of the challenge cup for the first time in many years. Up for the challenge despite being without Bradley Zazuum Smith their regular keeper a returning Kia Leonard (broken arm) stood in for the absent Zazuum as skipper for this game. Congratulations go to the Under 11s Storm who made it through to the Semi-Final's of the MCFA Youth Cup. In the Quarter-Final's United who faced Glossop North End away fully deserved their 2-1 victory. Beechy produced a brilliant first half display and led 1-0 at the break courtesy of a goal from Jordan Coates. In the second period Glossop North End looked better organised and were rewarded with an equalising goal but United stepped up a gear and Jordan Coates was on target again with the match winner. Reserve Team in Quarter-Final’s

Following their first game of 2012 Beechfield United's Reserve Team booked their place in the Quarter-Final's of the MCFA Saturday Amateur Cup. Despite a below par performance United still managed to secure a 1-0 home victory in Round 3 over Lancashire and Cheshire Football League side Manchester Rovers. Conditions at Salford Sports Village were less than ideal with a strong gusty wind blowing down the length of the 3G Astroturf Pitch. Congratulations go to the Under 11s Storm who made it through to the Semi-Final’s of the MCFA Youth Cup. In the Quarter-Final’s United who faced Glossop North End away fully deserved their 2-1 victory. Beechy produced a brilliant first half display and led 1-0 at the break courtesy of a goal from Jordan Coates. In the second period Glossop North End looked better organised and were rewarded with an equalising goal but United stepped up a gear and Jordan Coates was on target again with the match winner. Ethan Haynes and Jace Winspear shared the Man of the Match Award. In the Semi-Final’s Beechy will play Dukinfield Youth on Sunday 18th March 2012.
